Good Advice from Paul

1 Corinthians 16:13

English Standard Version (ESV)
13 Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.

This is what Paul was saying to the Corinthians at the end of his first letter.  Looks like this could be good advice for us today too.  Funny how the "Living Word" works isn't it.  Anyway, I think in today's times it is more important than ever that Christians stand firm in their beliefs.

I think if Christians had been more watchful, and been more apt to stand firm in the faith throughout the last 50 years or so then alot of the problems we are dealing with in the US would be non-existent.  I'm not really preaching this morning, I'm just giving advice that comes from my "saved by the blood of Jesus" heart.
Let's be Watchful:  Always be mindful of the world arena. Look for signs of Jesus' coming.
Stand firm in the faith:  You will be persecuted in one way or another but don't back down in conversations with others about God.
Be strong:  Be prepared to be persecuted, but know this.... a little persecution on this earth is nothing compared to the joy of an eternity with the Lord!

Follow truth and lies will be more visible

Psalm 43:3Send out your light and your truth; let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling!

Have any of you noticed things here in America don’t seem to be going good for Christians?  My message is short and sweet.  Have you read any part of Revelation that says before the end, Christians will start getting treated with respect and their lives will be full of cheer?

On the contrary guys and gals, if you stand firm in your belief that Jesus is the Son of God, He died on a cross for you, and on the third day He rose again and now sits beside God in heaven…..then you will probably have a hard time fitting in today’s culture.  If you are being persecuted then I say “Congrats” because it must mean you are doing something that Satan is nervous or upset about!  Satan won’t bother you if you are not a threat to his kingdom!

As the verse says –paraphrased- “Father lead us with Your truth”.  The world is full of intelligence, but definitely not Wisdom!  Wisdom comes from knowing God!

If you feel convicted, please just pray this prayer……….Father, I know your Son was Jesus and that he died on the cross for MY sins.  I know he was sacrificed so I could be shown your mercy.  Forgive me for my sinful life, I’m Sorry!  Now imagine leaving all of your sins at the foot of the cross, because that is where your sins were taken care of.  Turn your life over to His will for you, not your will for your life.

You will still sin, I certainly do, but when you do you will know it is wrong.  Praise God for anyone who prayed that prayer….

God Bless!

Joy in the outdoors!

Isaiah 55:12
English Standard Version (ESV)
12 “For you shall go out in joy
and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and the hills before you
shall break forth into singing,
and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

One of the joys of the outdoors!

... Short and sweet today guys…Sometimes when you are outdoors hunting, fishing, or just exploring, you will find yourself at more of a peace than usual. At least I do. I know that today’s verse isn’t directly related to the peace of the outdoors, but God’s word is called the living word. By living, it can mean different things to different people.
Go out sometime and just look around at the beauty in nature. I think sometimes that hunters whether they know it or not, are being fed spiritually by nature. It is the perfect place to pray and thank God for all that is around you and all of your many personal blessings. The quietness of the woods should also be seen as a blessing.
Read the verse today and just picture the peace of God flowing through you as you look at His creations.

God Bless!
