Convicted Again!
13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost
his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing,
but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. 14 Ye are the light of
the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15 Neither do men light
a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light
unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that
they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Matt 5:13-16 (KJV)
One of the great things about being a Christian is that God
will continually mold you and shape you into the person He wants you to
be. He does this by convicting you in
areas of your life that may need some work.
He got me this morning with todays verses.
You know we all go through mountains and valleys in our
relationship with God, much like you do with anyone you have a relationship
with. I realized this morning that I’ve
been focusing on our recent move and my book too much lately. I’ve become less “salty”. The above verses are talking about people who
are saved, and then fall back into a life where God is not the center. They are also very clear about turning back
to our old ways, before we were saved.
I love the fact that with my blog and Facebook, I can spread
the Gospel to more people. I (we) have
to remember though, we should shine our light all the time………Not just on
Facebook. Facebook has made me a little
lazy because I speak my convictions and then tell myself that many more people
heard the word than would have if I was out on the street corner. The difference is though, if I were on the
street corner preaching the gospel I am then a more tangible tool for God.
My point……. Let’s be “salty” in all of our daily
activities! God Bless!
