When does Satan attack?
Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to
be tempted of the devil. 2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights,
he was afterward an hungred. 3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If
thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. 4 But he
answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by
every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Matt 4:1-4 (KJV)
I couldn’t sleep, so I’ve been reading and studying my
bible. My Aunt is really sick, so I ask
all of you to put Gail Brannon on your prayer list. That must be whats on my mind for me to not
be able to sleep.
Anyway, I started reading in Matthew and got to the above
verses. They got me to thinking……..When
does Satan (the world) seem to attack us?
Of course he can and will attack us at anytime, but look at the
verses. Jesus had just come off of a 40
day fast, He was hungry and fatigued.
THEN Satan shows up to temp Him.
That is not by accident. When we
are weak or sick or emotionally hurting, that is when the devil will appear to
us in many forms in order to temp us.
What’s interesting to me is that while satan was tempting
Jesus with food and worldly things, Jesus always responded to him in the
spiritual realm. Satan says “ hey Jesus,
if you are hungry, just turn the rocks into bread”. I love Jesus’ response……………Im paraphrasing
here…. “Satan, one’s spiritual health is much more important than one’s
physical health” . This had to infuriate
satan, I mean, here Jesus is hungry for physical food for His body but all He is concerned with is Spiritual
food.
I know I’m rambling
on and I’m sure you all get the point so I’ll leave you with this thought………………..As
a Christian, if you die physically you merely move on to an eternity with God,
but if you are not saved (spiritually dead) and you die, you will move on to an
eternity in darkness, separated from God’s love. Tell someone about Jesus and what He did for
you! Use your life as a testimony! God Bless!
