Hebrews 9:22 Indeed, under the law almost everything is
purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness
od sins.
Before Jesus, every sin you committed had to be atoned for
by some means. For the most part it was
up to the priest to do the proper sacrifice for the particular sin of a person,
family, or group of people. This verse
is very important to us because it shows us that if Jesus hadn’t died on the
cross, none of our sins could be forgiven.
Jesus is the sacrificial lamb and with His death and
resurrection, our sins are able to be forgiven.
Now some might ask, “Why did Jesus have to die? Why couldn’t we continue to sacrifice animals
and such?” It’s hard to explain, but
technically sins were only covered by animal sacrifice not really
cleansed. This could get tricky, so for
the sake of time just go with me on that
Now, the only way a once and for all sacrifice for sins
could be done would be if God came as a man, lived a perfect life under the
law, then died as a perfect sacrifice for sin.
You see the sinless one was the only one who could wash away our sins
and put them as far as the east is from the west. He had to be our savior. No other lamb, cow, bird, or anything else
could accomplish what Jesus did on the cross.
So as you see, today’s verse is very important to all Christians. Sometimes I think we take for granted that
Jesus died on the cross, and really don’t understand the concept behind why He
had to die. If you have never felt
convicted of your sins,I mean really felt this overwhelming sense of sadness
for your sinful life, and now do: Just
tell God you are sorry for your sinful life, thank him for sending Jesus to die
on that cross for YOU! Now leave your
sinful life at the foot of the cross and turn from your will to God’s will for
your life. Pray for guidance and a
revelation of His will for you. Read
your bible, it’s actually a living word that will guide you in your new Christian
life.
Please send this to as many people as you can think of. Continue to pray for this ministry. Tell
people about Jesus and what he has done for you! God Bless!
